金生幼儿园毕业的他，现在怎么样了？

K3那年，Brooklyn成了很多小伙伴们信服的“老大”，甚至变成了口头禅。提到他，金生很多老师的回忆里都能泛起许多温暖、感人的画面。

In his K3 year, Brooklyn became the trusted "leader" among many of his peers, and the nickname even turned into a catchphrase. When it comes to him, many teachers at King’s can recall a lot of warm and touching scenes.

而回到最初，Brooklyn似乎是没那么引人注目的存在，甚至让家人、老师有些“头疼”。

“他2岁的时候出去玩，大冬天的非要用凉水洗澡，最后简直是他在哭，我也跟着哭。”回忆起往事，Brooklyn爸爸忍不住扶额苦笑。

But looking back at the very beginning, Brooklyn didn’t seem to be a noticeable child, in fact, he even caused a bit of a "headache" for his family and teachers.

"When he was two years old, we went out to play. He insisted on taking a bath with cold water on a freezing winter day. In the end, he was crying and I ended up crying too," Brooklyn’s father couldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head as he recalled the past.

来到幼儿园的小Brooklyn，同样也没让生活老师省心。记得有次午餐，看到不是自己喜欢吃的蔬菜，他一怒之下把整个盘子倒扣在桌上。

“他不是故意的，只是还不知道如何合理地发泄情绪。”班主任潘老师如是作出解释。

“我们如何表达自己”是IB PYP项目非常重要的超学科主题，甚至是贯穿人的一生的重要命题。爸爸是律师、妈妈在银行工作，工作都很忙，缺少亲子陪伴而不知如何表达的他，让潘老师很是心疼。潘老师从此开启了对他的多维度观察、照见与多策略支持。

Little Brooklyn was no less of a handful for the life teachers when he first arrived at the kindergarten. I remember one time during lunch, when he saw that the vegetables on his plate weren’t his favorite, he flew into a rage and turned the whole plate upside down on the table.

"He didn’t do it on purpose, he just didn’t know how to vent his emotions properly," explained his head teacher, Ms. Pan. 

"How we express ourselves" is a very important transdisciplinary theme in the IB PYP program and even a crucial proposition that runs through a person’s entire life. Brooklyn’s father is a lawyer and his mother works in a bank, both are kept busy with their jobs. Lacking parent-child companionship, Brooklyn didn’t know how to express himself, which made Ms. Pan feel sorry for him. From then on, she began to observe him from multiple dimensions, understand him deeply and provide support through various strategies.

Tyler也会在Brooklyn发脾气的时候，把他抱到一旁进行安抚，再引导他复盘经过，开展个别教育。

而在金生，K3-B的孩子们也充满了友爱与包容。每当Brooklyn陷入情绪的漩涡，他们会默契地给他留出时间与空间——“我知道你现在需要一点儿时间，一会儿再来找你玩哦。”

When Brooklyn lost his temper, Teacher Tyler would also take him aside to comfort him, then guide him to review what had happened and conduct individualised education for him.

At King’s, the children of K3-B were also full of kindness and tolerance. Whenever Brooklyn was caught in an emotional whirlwind, they would tacitly give him time and space, they’d say "I know you need a little time right now. I’ll come to play with you later."

潘老师最触动而欣慰的一次，是在那个温暖和煦的下午，看到在洗手池前静静地撕纸巾的他。

“Brooklyn，你在做什么呢？”

“我有些生气，我在发泄自己的情绪。”

“那瞬间，我心里想，这孩子真的长大了。”

潘老师这样感慨。

One of Ms. Pan’s most touching and gratifying moments was on a warm and pleasant afternoon, when she saw Brooklyn quietly tearing pieces of tissue by the sink.

"Brooklyn, what are you doing?"

"I’m a little angry. I’m letting out my emotions."

"At that moment, I thought to myself, this child has really grown up," Ms. Pan recalled with emotion.

一天又一天，年复一年，老师们的坚持换来了Brooklyn持续的长进，无论是情绪自控力，还是社交能力、学习技能等方面。

Day after day, year after year, the teachers’perseverance brought about continuous progress in Brooklyn, in terms of his emotional self-control, social skills, learning abilities and more.

情绪管理能力的提升，为Brooklyn铺就了通往达成其它目标之路，他的光芒也被更多的人看见。

The improvement in his emotional management skills paved the way for Brooklyn to achieve other goals and his shining qualities were noticed by more and more people.

毕业典礼前夕，班级竞选毕业节目小主持，Brooklyn很犹豫，潘潘老师鼓励他：“你在金生幼儿园呆了四年，这么难得的机会，不如大胆尝试一下？”为了这个“试一下”，家里的爸爸妈妈也跟着进入紧张的“备战”状态。机会总是留给有准备的人，同伴纷纷为他投票——成功啦！

临上台前，面对毕业典礼台下即将坐满的八百多号观众，Brooklyn紧张得肚子疼。爸爸鼓励他：“你想那个灯光一打，就只有你自己。加油！”

舞台上全场安静，柔和明亮的追光灯静静地倾洒在小Brooklyn身上，他开始说了第一句台词。而台下的爸爸，手心也不知何时跟着攥湿了。

On the eve of the graduation ceremony, there was an election for the host of the graduation program in the class. Brooklyn was hesitant. Ms. Pan encouraged him: "You’ve been at King’s Kindergarten for four years. Such a rare opportunity—why not give it a bold try?" To take this "try",Brooklyn’s parents also entered a state of intense "preparation" at home. Opportunity always favors the prepared, and his peers voted for him one after another, finally he made it!

Right before going on stage, facing the upcoming audience of over 800 people sitting under the stage at the graduation ceremony, Brooklyn was so nervous that he got a stomachache. Brooklyn’s father encouraged him by saying "Just imagine, when the stage lights are on, it’s just you up there. Come on!"

The entire venue fell silent as soft, bright spotlights poured down gently on little Brooklyn. He began to say his first line. Meanwhile, his father, sitting in the audience, didn’t realise when his palms had become sweaty.

进入小学后的Brooklyn长得高高壮壮，开始接触棒球运动。为了获得更多赢的机会，不少队友陆续离开选择加入更强的球队。Brooklyn却甘愿留下来，而他既想呆在队里，也想赢。

于是在无数次傍晚的球场内外，他和队友互相加油鼓劲。那次棒球比赛，他们球队只差最后一球就要和冠军擦肩而过。Brooklyn顶着压力上场，尽己所能、全力以赴。

当白球砸在对手围网之际，连他自己也没想到，他们队实现了逆风翻盘，拿到了冠军。

Now that he has entered primary school, Brooklyn has grown tall and strong and has started to play baseball. To have a better chance of winning, many of his teammates left one after another to join stronger teams. Brooklyn was willing to stay, but he both wanted to be in the team and to win. 

So, time and again, on and off the baseball field in the evenings, he and his teammates cheered each other on. In that baseball game, their team was just one ball away from missing out on the championship. Under immense pressure, Brooklyn stepped up to the plate and gave it his all.

 When the white ball hit the opponent’s backstop, even he didn’t expect that their team would stage a stunning comeback and win the championship.

如今的他，勇于担任话剧小主角，给英文动画配音，纯英文演讲分享棒球经历，在广东各电视台节目担当小主持，甚至获得了“校园之星”的光荣称号......

Today, he bravely takes on the leading role in school plays, dubs for English animations, gives speeches in pure English sharing his baseball experiences, serves as a host for various TV programs in Guangdong, and has even won the honorary title of "Campus Star".

谈起Brooklyn如今的发展，回想起当时洗冷水澡的画面，爸爸笑声中也多了一份自豪，“在当爸爸这件事上，我也越来越熟练啦！”关于教育，Brooklyn爸爸也积攒了诸多心得：

“金生会给到孩子不一样的培养方案和方向。对孩子的这种包容和看见，让不同个性的孩子实现自己最大化的发展。幸福的童年真的会治愈一生！”

Talking about Brooklyn’s current development and recalling the scene of him taking a cold shower back then, his father’s laughter was filled with pride. "I’ve also become more and more skilled at being a dad!" When it comes to education, Brooklyn’s father has also accumulated a lot of insights:

"King’s provides children with unique training plans and directions. This kind of tolerance and understanding towards children allows kids with different personalities to maximize their own development. A happy childhood really does heal a lifetime!"
