一场艺术之旅就此展开
在BMH,美术教学从来都不局限于单一的技法传授。我们始终坚持以大单元主题、跨学科融合的方式进行教学,通过项目式课程,让艺术真正走进学生的生活与心灵。而此次与英国夏校游学融合的艺术课程,正是这一教学理念的生动实践。
这场游学之旅不仅是地理坐标的迁移,更是一次用美学重构认知、以创作对话文明的精神远征。
在传统课堂中,哥特式尖顶只是教科书上的黑白线条,而当学生站在威斯敏斯特教堂穹顶下仰望彩窗折射的光斑时,建筑便成为可触摸的时光书页;泰晤士河上的轻柔碧波不再是水彩颜料的简单晕染,而是需要屏息捕捉的流动诗篇。
这种沉浸式体验将二维知识转化为五感共振,让艺术教育从“纸上谈兵”升华为“身临其境”。这正是我们大单元教学的精髓——打破课堂边界,让学习在真实世界中自然发生。
从飞檐斗拱到穹顶玫瑰窗,从逸笔草草到油彩堆叠,每一次跨越文化的凝视,都是一次心智的探险。
当学生们在欣赏华威城堡的苍凉庄严时,也能理解岭南祠堂粉墙黛瓦內的烟火人间;既能沉醉于王希孟《千里江山图》千年丹青淬炼出的东方气韵,也能共鸣康斯特布尔《干草车》畔的田园牧歌——他们便真正获得了在世界文明花园中自由行走的能力。
这种基于深刻认知差异而生发的好奇心、同理心与判断力,正是未来公民必备的核心素养,也是我们跨学科融合教学的终极目标。
英国柏朗思校园内丰富多样的植物、充满历史底蕴和英伦特色的教学楼,共同构成最生动的美育课堂。当学生用水彩颜料描绘校园内苔藓的绒毛质感,或是用综合材料搭建英式古堡时,他们不仅在学习技法,更在重建与自然、与中西文化的情感联结。

At BMH, art education extends far beyond technique. We design learning experiences that connect classroom teaching with real-world encounters. This summer, our students' journey through Britain became the foundation for an immersive art unit, where ancient castles and flowing rivers transformed into their most compelling teachers.
Standing beneath Westminster Abbey's vaulted ceilings, students encountered what textbooks could only describe. Gothic architecture became tangible - not just lines on a page, but spaces they could sketch, touch, and understand. The Thames revealed itself not as a flat reference image, but as living watercolor in motion.
These direct experiences formed the heart of our pedagogical approach: learning through immersion, where knowledge gains depth through sensory engagement.
The journey nurtured something equally vital - a global artistic perspective. Students learned to appreciate both the majestic lines of Warwick Castle and the subtle elegance of Chinese temples. They discovered connections between Wang Ximeng's ancient landscapes and Constable's rural scenes, understanding how different cultures express their relationship with nature. This comparative approach cultivated the empathy and discernment that define true cultural literacy.
Bromsgrove School's campus, with its historic buildings and natural surroundings, became an open-air studio. Students painted the delicate texture of moss on stone walls, sketched wildflowers in castle courtyards, and created works that blended observation with imagination. These weren't merely exercises in technique, but acts of genuine artistic response - each piece reflecting a personal encounter with a new environment.

The artworks our students created - watercolors touched by English mist, sketches animated by castle shadows, mixed-media pieces layered with cultural references - represent more than technical achievement. They embody the core of BMH's art education: that true artistic growth happens when students learn to see deeply, think across cultures, and create from authentic experience. This UK journey, like all our thematic units, reminds us that the most powerful learning often happens when we step outside our usual frames of reference and encounter the world with open eyes and ready sketchbooks.
