当教育的场域从教室延伸至科技工坊、百年古墟与社区深处,学习便成为一场与真实世界的身心对话。继在观澜湖生态体育公园开启“无边界课堂”的探索之后,BMH PLUS一至三年级的孩子们继续在“每周半天计划”中,跨越学科的界限,走进更广阔的学习场域。
十月的科技周,我们以“Hi tech”为名,开启了两场别开生面的科学之旅。
在“奇妙声音探险记”活动中,王灵清老师与各班班主任共同组织学生开展声学实验。孩子们以小组形式参与多个实践环节:使用音叉观察振动对乒乓球的带动效果,将手掌贴于喉部感受发声时的震动频率,并通过对比不同乐器的声响特征,总结声音高低与振动规律的关系。这些具象化的操作让“声音由振动产生”的原理变得清晰可知。
科技月不仅是科学的舞台,更是家校携手的桥梁。我们非常荣幸地邀请到了二年级李惠媛同学的妈妈——燕岑老师,为孩子们带来了一堂别开生面的“形象思维记忆力”课程。
燕岑老师作为资深的学业规划与家庭教育指导师、中管院形象思维导师,她用一个神奇的“记忆魔法”征服了所有孩子。她没有要求孩子们死记硬背,而是将枯燥的数字转化为一个个生动的形象和有趣的故事。在她的引导下,圆周率后50位数字仿佛被赋予了生命,变成了一幅幅连环画,深深地印刻在孩子们的脑海里。
讲座结束时,几乎全场的孩子都能流利地背诵出圆周率小数点后50位!这不仅是记忆力的胜利,更是科学学习方法与教学智慧的完美体现。
最好的课堂,往往藏在城市的文化肌理中。
十一月的观澜古墟之行,将孩子们带入一个活着的“岭南文化博物馆”。他们走在青石板上,抚摸斑驳的墙面,聆听每栋建筑背后的故事。在这里,历史不是教科书上的插图,而是脚下踩过的石阶、眼中看到的骑楼、耳中传来的地方口音。
孩子们带着任务卡,化身“文化小侦探”,在古井、商铺与祠堂之间,寻找历史的线索。他们发现,原来建筑会说话,街巷有记忆。这场行走的课堂,不仅教会他们客家排屋与广府骑楼的建筑区别,更在他们心中,种下一颗文化认同与传承的种子。
从科学实验到记忆魔法,从现代科技到传统村落,我们充分依托集团化办学的资源优势,将课堂拓展至社区、场馆、自然与文化现场,让学习在真实情境中自然发生。
孩子们在协作中学会沟通,在探索中激发好奇,在传统中感悟传承——这些无法仅凭试卷衡量的素养,正是一次次“走出去”的实践中,悄然生长出来的生命力。

Tech Week
Where Science Comes Alive
During October's Tech Week, students participated in immersive scientific explorations. In "The Adventure of Sound," Ms Wang guided them through practical acoustic experiments using tuning forks to observe vibrations, feeling their throat movements while speaking, and comparing different instruments to understand pitch and frequency relationships.
The week also featured meaningful parent involvement when Yan Cen—mother of a P2 student and a certified educational planner—conducted an engaging session on visual memory techniques. Rather than relying on rote memorization, she taught children to transform numbers into vivid images and stories.
This innovative approach enabled students to successfully memorize the first 50 digits of pi, demonstrating the power of creative learning methods.
Cultural Immersion:
Walking Through History
November's outing took students to the historic Guanlan Old Market, where ancient streets became their classroom. Working as "cultural detectives," the children completed task cards that required careful observation of architectural details and documentation of different building styles.
Through direct engagement with local heritage, they learned to distinguish between Hakka row houses and Cantonese arcade buildings, gaining practical understanding of regional cultural differences.
These experiences—from sound experiments to memory techniques to cultural exploration—showcase BMH's commitment to experiential learning. By taking students into the community and bringing experts into the classroom, we're helping them develop not just academic knowledge, but also curiosity, cultural awareness, and critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
