| Inquiry Communication Events

Communication, collaboration and evaluation were at the centre of our recent Inquiry Communication Events, where pupils proudly presented their final projects to partner classes. Through inquiry-based learning, pupils developed curiosity, critical thinking and teamwork skills as they explored meaningful, real-world concepts and reflected on their discoveries together.

Prep 2 presented their Mini 3D Community of Heroes and Helpers, including teachers and emergency services, learning about the importance of people in their communities. Alongside them, Prep 4B showcased their 3D Rainforest Model, explaining the diversity of species and the global impact of rainforests on our planet. Pupils enjoyed observing each other’s models and asking thoughtful questions about the roles and relationships between people, plants and animals. The event encouraged empathy, appreciation, and a sense of global responsibility as pupils recognised how everyone contributes to a healthy world.

Prep 3 hosted a vibrant Gallery Walk, displaying artwork about marine life, pollution and the differences between saltwater and freshwater habitats. Prep 4A joined them with their models of the Rainforest Layers, explaining how deforestation affects ecosystems. Pupils described the creative processes behind their projects and shared facts they had discovered through their research. They were impressed by each other’s knowledge and enthusiasm, as well as their growing ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.

Prep 5 introduced their Invented Endangered Animals, sharing ideas about different threats to animal populations and how we can help from afar. They also discussed adaptation, camouflage and animal needs, while Prep 6A demonstrated their Water Filter Designs, exploring the importance of clean water and its different states. Pupils discussed the importance of making ethical and sustainable choices to protect wildlife and resources. Both classes showed scientific understanding and creative problem-solving as they explained how innovation can help care for our planet and the life upon it.

Prep 6B’s investigation into Water Quality, evaporation and the water cycle was on show, while Prep 7’s Lifecycle Fair highlighted fascinating processes such as metamorphosis and gestation periods. Pupils used models, posters and demonstrations to help visitors understand scientific cycles in nature. They were all proud to share how living things change and grow over time, linking their findings to the wider world around them.
These events were wonderful celebrations of creativity, knowledge and collaboration. Pupils demonstrated confidence, curiosity and compassion, showing how they are growing into thoughtful, reflective and responsible 21st-Century Thinkers.
