As a new semester begins at MIS, I feel grateful to be part of a community that is constantly evolving — not only in our facilities, but also in how we care for the whole child: body, mind, and spirit.
Our new playground and football pitch have already transformed student life. These spaces are alive with energy, laughter, and teamwork. Beyond physical exercise, they provide opportunities for students to develop resilience, confidence, and the joy of being part of a community. Watching students challenge themselves on the field or share moments of play reminds me why movement is such an essential part of learning.
At the same time, MIS is embracing innovation by integrating new technologies, including artificial intelligence, into our teaching and learning. These tools prepare our students for the future while also encouraging creativity and problem-solving in the present. For us as educators, they open new doors to engage students in ways that are both meaningful and inspiring.
Equally inspiring is the school’s investment in its teachers. Professional development programs ensure that we continue to grow in our practice, exchange new ideas, and return to our classrooms with fresh perspectives. In doing so, we model the lifelong learning that we hope to instill in every student.
A particularly exciting development this year is the introduction of the SOS system, designed to support students in both their daily lives and academic achievements. This thoughtful initiative ensures that every child feels guided and cared for, giving them the tools to navigate challenges with confidence. It reflects MIS’s deep commitment to providing not only excellent education, but also holistic support for every learner.
In my own subject area, mindfulness and well-being are becoming a more regular part of school life. Our monthly junior yoga and mindfulness days allow students to pause, reflect, and connect with themselves. Even the youngest learners are developing emotional awareness and learning to approach challenges with calm and kindness. These practices give them skills that extend far beyond the classroom, preparing them for life with resilience and empathy.
As we step into this academic year, I am proud to see MIS bringing together balance, innovation, and care. From new facilities and technologies to well-being programs and student support systems, every development is guided by a vision of helping each student thrive. That spirit of growth and community is what makes MIS so special, and I am excited for all that lies ahead.
