8月6日至8日,备受学生和家长们喜爱的三天两夜“曼校英伦学院体验营”正式开启。在这个营地,我们不仅解锁了菁英教育的独特路径,更见证了孩子们在勇气、合作与国际视野上的悄然蜕变。

DAY1
初识英伦风度,奠基卓越之路
在校长隆重的欢迎仪式中,夏令营拉开序幕。同学们迅速开启了成长的第一步:写下自我介绍并“结对”互荐。在此过程中大家展现了结交新友的勇气,在分享中发现共同兴趣,埋下合作与友谊的种子。


稍作休息后,孩子们来到了图书馆,开启了“阅读与讨论”时光。大家共读经典《戴帽子的猫》,轮流朗读,热烈讨论故事。随后的阅读时间,孩子们依据兴趣自主选择书籍,多元的阅读选择展现了浓厚的求知欲和潜在的国际视野。




下午的课堂充满挑战与趣味。艺术课上,孩子们的涂鸦诞生了趣味的艺术作品,大大展现了孩子们的想象力。紧接着的STEM活动成为焦点——设计并折叠纸火箭!孩子们发挥创意,反复测试用吸管发射的效果。当火箭在教室里或翱翔或盘旋时,现场充满了成功的欢呼与欢笑,这正是尝试、合作与解决问题的成长时刻!




丰盛晚餐后,电影《哈利·波特与魔法石》为充满活力的一天带来放松与奇幻色彩。在魔法世界的陪伴下,孩子们带着对英式寄宿文化的憧憬和对次日
探索的期待,进入梦乡。


DAY2
探索科学圣殿 点亮少年科学梦
如果说第一天是文化与礼仪的浸润,那么第二天则是在“校长妈妈”袁汇的带领下,将课堂搬到了科技创新的前沿——深圳湾实验室。


来到深圳湾实验室,同学们近距离触摸尖端科研设备,聆听顶尖科学家们鲜为人知的奋斗故事,感受生命科学领域的技术创新与严谨求实的科学氛围。


随后,一场妙趣横生的“蚊子的世界”科普讲座,由深圳湾实验室张恒博士以诙谐易懂的语言展开。“为什么只有雌蚊子才会叮人?”“蚊子是怎么长大的?”这些贴近生活的问题瞬间抓住了孩子们的好奇心。当张博士揭秘蚊子口器里隐藏的“秘密武器”(切割刀、吸血管、麻醉剂和抗凝血剂注射管)时,孩子们发出了阵阵惊叹!勇气在此刻体现为敢于探索未知的“小恶心”,合作则体现在共同观察和讨论的专注中。



高潮无疑是亲手操作显微镜的时刻!从蚊子卵、幼虫、蛹到成虫,孩子们屏息凝神,见证了生命形态的精细转变。微观世界的奇妙景象在他们眼前展开,那份专注与发现带来的喜悦,是课堂上难以复制的体验。


下午的探索之旅移步至深圳市脑科学技术产业创新中心。在这里,深奥的脑科学被巧妙地转化为趣味的互动体验。“大脑等比例模型”让孩子们直观感受大脑的复杂;“细胞科普小屋”则将微观的神经世界生动呈现。通过精心设计的意念掰手腕和意念赛车游戏,孩子们沉浸在一场探索大脑的奇妙旅程中。这不仅是对知识的获取,更是对自身潜能的一种认知和激发。




DAY3
身心滋养,自信绽放
最后一天聚焦身心健康与成果展示。清晨的瑜伽练习让孩子们学会关注内在平衡。在营养学课上,孩子们深入了解健康的饮食方式,将知识转化为生活智慧。



下午的戏剧表演课更是激发了孩子们的表演热情和活力,随后的3D艺术课则是引导孩子们亲手体验3D艺术在自己笔下的诞生。激动人心的“成果展示会”上,孩子们自信地向家长展示学习成果。亲子互动环节,让家长们也亲身感受到“我辈中的英式教育”魅力。最终,在庄重的结营仪式上,孩子们收获了含金量十足的结业证书(含校长签名),为这段充满挑战与收获的旅程画上圆满句号。

From 6th to 8th August, the highly anticipated three-day, two-night ‘MIS British Academy Experience Camp’ officially kicked off. At this camp, we not only unlocked the unique path of elite education but also witnessed the subtle transformation of the children in terms of courage, cooperation, and international perspective.

DAY1
Introducing British Elegance, Laying the Foundation for Excellence
The summer camp kicked off with a grand welcome ceremony led by the head of school. The students quickly took their first step toward growth: writing self-introductions and pairing up to recommend each other. In this process, they demonstrated the courage to make new friends, discovered shared interests through sharing, and planted the seeds of cooperation and friendship.


After a short break, the children headed to the library for a ‘reading and discussion’ session. They read the classic ‘The Cat in the Hat’ together, taking turns to read aloud and engaging in lively discussions about the story. During the subsequent reading time, the children selected books based on their interests, with the diverse range of choices reflecting their strong curiosity and potential for international perspective.




The afternoon classes were filled with challenges and fun. In art class, the children's doodles gave birth to fun artworks, greatly showcasing their imagination. The subsequent STEM activity became the focus—designing and folding paper rockets! The children exercised their creativity, repeatedly testing the effect of launching with straws. When the rockets soared or spun in the classroom, the scene was filled with cheers and laughter of success, which was precisely the moment of growth through trial, cooperation, and problem-solving!




After a hearty dinner, the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone brought relaxation and a touch of magic to an energetic day. Accompanied by the magical world, the children drifted off to sleep with anticipation for the next day's explorations and a longing for British boarding school culture.


DAY2
Exploring the Temple of Science, Igniting Young Scientists' Dreams
If the first day was about immersing in culture and etiquette, the second day, led by School Mom’ Ms. Wendy, moved the classroom to the forefront of scientific innovation—the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory.


At the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, the students got up close to cutting-edge research equipment, listened to the little-known stories of top scientists' struggles, and felt the technological innovation and rigorous, pragmatic scientific atmosphere in the field of life sciences.


Following this, a fascinating science lecture titled ‘The World of Mosquitoes’ was delivered by Dr. Zhang Heng of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory in a humorous and accessible manner. Questions like ‘Why do only female mosquitoes bite humans?’ and ‘How do mosquitoes grow?’ immediately captured the children's curiosity. When Dr. Zhang revealed the ‘secret weapons’ hidden in a mosquito's mouthparts (a cutting blade, suction tube, anaesthetic, and anticoagulant injection tube), the children erupted in awe! Courage was demonstrated through their willingness to explore the unknown, while cooperation was evident in their focused observation and discussion.



The highlight was undoubtedly the opportunity to operate a microscope hands-on! From mosquito eggs, larvae, pupae to adult mosquitoes, the children held their breath, witnessing the intricate transformations of life forms. The marvelous sights of the microscopic world unfolded before their eyes, and the joy of focus and discovery was an experience that could not be replicated in the classroom.


The afternoon exploration journey moved to the Shenzhen Brain Science and Technology Industry Innovation Centre. Here, the profound field of brain science was cleverly transformed into an engaging interactive experience. The ‘brain scale model’ allowed children to intuitively grasp the complexity of this command centre; the ‘cell science education booth’ vividly presented the microscopic neural world. Through carefully designed mind-controlled arm-wrestling and mind-controlled racing games, children immersed themselves in a wonderful journey of exploring the brain. This was not only about acquiring knowledge but also about recognising and stimulating their own potential.




DAY3
Nourishing Mind and Body, Confidently Shining
The final day focused on mental and physical health and showcasing achievements. Morning yoga sessions taught the children to focus on inner balance. Nutrition classes provided in-depth knowledge about healthy eating habits, transforming theoretical knowledge into practical wisdom for daily life.



Afternoon drama classes ignited the children's passion for performance and vitality, while the subsequent 3D art class guided them in creating their own 3D artworks from scratch. At the exciting ‘Achievement Showcase,’ the children confidently presented their learning outcomes to their parents. The parent-child interaction session allowed parents to personally experience the charm of ‘British-style education.’ Finally, at the solemn closing ceremony, the children received certificates of completion (signed by the head of school), marking the end of this challenging and rewarding journey.




Conclusion
Though the three-day, two-night British summer camp was brief, it was deeply meaningful. From immersing in British culture, exploring the wonders of science, to nurturing both mind and body, the ‘MIS British Academy Experience Camp’ opened the door to British elite education for the children. We are delighted to witness that, immersed in a pure British environment, the children not only enhanced their qualities but also cultivated the courage to explore, deepened their teamwork, and broadened their international perspective. This courage and vision, forged through challenges and collaboration, will undoubtedly accompany them as they embark on a brighter future!
