访校团UEC爱奖户外探索 | 在山路上，看见更勇敢的自己

近日，UEC学子踏上了为期三天的爱丁堡公爵奖（DofE）户外探索旅程。从安徽广德的笄山竹海到奉化溪口的黄金古道，跨越山川、走进自然，他们在挑战中磨练意志，在合作中理解责任，在未知中邂逅更强大的自己。
Recently, UEC students embarked on a three-day Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) outdoor expedition. From the bamboo forests of Jishan in Guangde, Anhui, to the ancient trails of Fenghua Xikou, they crossed mountains and forests, stepped into nature, strengthened their will through challenges, learned responsibility through collaboration, and discovered a stronger self along the unknown paths.
A Journey That Truly Transforms｜人在路上，成长在心里
——Growth Happens with Every Step
创立于1956年的爱丁堡公爵国际奖，鼓励14至25岁的青年通过运动、服务、技能和户外探索实现全面成长。它的价值不在竞争，而在于主动面对挑战、突破自我、收获真实的改变。
Founded in 1956, the Duke of Edinburghs International Award encourages young people aged 14 to 25 to grow through physical activity, community service, skills development, and outdoor expeditions. Its value lies not in competition, but in facing challenges head-on, pushing personal limits, and embracing genuine transformation.
为了这次户外旅程，UEC同学们提前进行了系统而扎实的准备——从团队契约与合作、风险管理与急救，到地图判读、户外导航、食品计划与营地烹饪，都进行了充分训练。完成练习旅程后，同学们也为最终的挑战打下了坚实基础。
To prepare for this expedition, UEC students completed thorough and structured training—from team contracts and collaboration, risk management and first aid, to map reading, outdoor navigation, meal planning, and campsite cooking. After finishing their practice journey, they were well equipped for the final challenge.
在同行中，我们成为彼此的力量
Walking Together, We Became Each Other's Strength
在奉化溪口的山路上，团队精神不是一句口号，而是同学们在三天的步伐里逐渐走出来的体会。
On the mountain paths of Xikou, Fenghua, team spirit wasn't a slogan—it was something students gradually understood through three days of walking together.
刚出发时，队伍的节奏还不一致；但越往前走，越能看到自然形成的分工——有人在前方提醒路况，有人在队尾照看队友，遇到岔路大家都会停下来一起确认方向。看似简单的动作，却让每个人都感到安心，也让队伍越来越默契。
At the beginning, everyone's pace was different. But as the journey went on, a natural sense of teamwork emerged—some students took the lead to check the road ahead, some watched over the group from the back, and whenever the trail split, everyone paused to confirm the direction together. These simple actions made each person feel supported and brought the team closer and closer.
到了营地，搭帐篷、做饭、整理物资、复盘路线……所有任务都是一起完成的。总有人主动上前帮一把，也总能看到哪怕累了也愿意伸手的身影。
At the campsite, pitching tents, cooking meals, organizing supplies, reviewing the day's route—every task was completed as a group. There was always someone willing to step forward and help, even when tired, and those small acts of support made the journey smoother.
在这段路上，大家真正明白了：团队不是口号，而是彼此心甘情愿的支持；不是谁带着谁走，而是在需要的时候有人在你身边，让每一步都更踏实、更有力量。
Along this path, students truly realized that teamwork is not about slogans but about being willing to support one another; it's not about one person leading everyone, but about having someone by your side when you need it most—making every step steadier, and every mile filled with strength.
走着走着，他们遇见了更好的自己
Step by Step, They Met a Better Version of Themselves
三天的户外探索，不只是体力挑战，更是一场走出舒适区的体验。
The three-day outdoor expedition was more than a physical challenge—it was a chance for students to step outside their comfort zones.
刚开始时，大家对地图、等高线和地形还不够熟悉；走在路上，也有人习惯依赖手机导航。但一路走下来，同学们慢慢学会了抬头看路、判断方向，也能在岔路口一起分析路线，真正用上课堂里的知识。
At the beginning, many were still unfamiliar with maps, contour lines, and terrain. Some instinctively reached for their phones to look for navigation. But as the journey continued, students gradually learned to look up, read the landscape, judge directions, and discuss route choices together at crossroads—finally putting their classroom knowledge into real practice.
沿途的植物、地貌和环境，让“自然课”从书本变成了眼前的风景。同学们开始主动观察、记录，让学习变得更具体、更有趣。
Along the trail, the plants, landforms, and environment turned "nature studies" into vivid, real-life learning. Students started to observe, record, and explore with curiosity, making every step a part of their own outdoor classroom.
而最让人印象深刻的，是坚持本身。
What left the deepest impression, however, was the power of persistence.
有的坡很陡，有的路很长，每一步都需要勇气。原本觉得体力有限的同学，反而在不断前行中发现自己比想象中更能坚持；在最累的时候咬咬牙，也能走到下一段。
The climbs were steep, and some paths were long—each step demanded courage. Students who once doubted their stamina found themselves able to keep going; and those moments when they pushed through fatigue showed them just how far they could go.
三天下来，大家都完成了对自己的小小突破——从“我不确定行不行”，变成“原来我真的可以”。也许未来还会遇到新的困难，但这段经历会在心里留下一个声音：坚持过一次，就有力量坚持下一次。
By the end of the three days, everyone achieved a quiet breakthrough—from "I'm not sure I can" to "I didn't know I actually could."
There will be more challenges ahead, but this experience leaves them with a lasting reminder: once you've held on once, you'll have the strength to hold on again.
在山林中上了一趟真正的课
They experienced a lesson taught truly by the forest.
在奉化溪口的黄金古道上，课堂不再只停留在书本里，而是在一路的风景和脚下的步伐中慢慢展开。
Along the ancient trail of Xikou in Fenghua, learning was no longer confined to textbooks—it unfolded through every view, every step, and every moment spent in nature.
行走的过程中，同学们开始用新的方式“看”这片山林。有小组会注意到步道两侧植被的变化，尝试找出人类活动与自然生长之间的差别；也有人在观察山坡上的树木分布时，开始思考为什么同一种植物会出现在不同的土壤、不同的光照环境里。
As they walked, students began to see the forest in new ways. Some groups observed how the vegetation changed along the trail, trying to distinguish traces of human activity from natural growth. Others studied how the same species of trees appeared across different slopes, wondering why they thrived in varying soil and light conditions.
三天下来，同学们不仅多认识了一些植物、多了解了一些地形，更重要的是学会了在自然面前保持好奇、保持观察，也保持一份发自内心的守护意识。
Over the three days, students not only recognized more plants and understood more terrain—they also learned to stay curious, to observe carefully, and to nurture a sincere sense of responsibility toward the natural world.
这趟黄金古道上的课堂，让大家明白：学习不是只有在教室里发生的；理解世界，不止于课本。有时候，只需要你愿意抬头看看，放慢脚步，和山林来一场真正的对话。
This journey showed them that learning doesn't only happen inside a classroom; understanding the world goes far beyond the pages of a textbook. Sometimes, all it takes is lifting your head, slowing your pace, and having a genuine conversation with the forest.
从最初的陌生与不确定，到后来的默契、勇气与自信，这段旅程不仅带来了奖项和经历，更让同学们看见了更真实也更坚韧的自己。无论未来迎来怎样的挑战，这三天的山路、背过的行囊、一起走过的每一段上坡，都会成为支持他们继续前行的力量。期待他们在未来的道路上继续突破自我，走向更多可能！
From the initial unfamiliarity and uncertainty to the growing sense of teamwork, courage, and confidence, this journey provided far more than an award or an experience—it allowed students to meet a truer, stronger version of themselves. No matter what challenges await in the future, the mountain paths they walked, the packs they carried, and every uphill stretch they conquered together will remain a source of strength that continues to guide them forward. Looking forward to seeing them continue breaking their own limits and embracing even more possibilities ahead!
