Year 7 Bring Your Mum to School Day

At LEH Foshan, Communication is one of our core 8Cs, and it sits at the heart of everything we do. We believe that the relationship between the school and the family is a genuine partnership based on openness, respect, and trust. In October, we had a “Bring Your Mum to School Day” and had the pleasure of inviting Year 7 mothers to experience a whole day in the life of their children, immersing themselves in the vibrant and purpose-driven school environment.
It was truly heartwarming to witness parents engaging in classroom activities, connecting with teachers, and gaining an authentic glimpse of our dynamic curriculum and instructional approaches. This activity also served to deepen the bonds of our close-knit community: it offered parents an immersive experience of our joyful, supportive learning environment, nurturing an even stronger connection among the school, students, and their families.
When parents are engaged, children thrive. At LEH Foshan, we see this every day. Parents who take part in school life not only support their own child’s learning but contribute to the collective energy of our community. Their feedback helps us refine our practice, and their enthusiasm encourages their children to value learning. It becomes a virtuous cycle, engagement leads to understanding, understanding builds trust, and trust allows every student to reach their potential.
From classroom interactions to connecting with teachers and fellow parents, mums’ glowing comments highlight how this event deepened their understanding of their children’s learning journey and strengthened the home-school bond.
My first impression is that since my son has attended several different schools, this is the only school that gives us the opportunity to get a direct firsthand feel for all his classes from the first lesson in the morning to the last one in the afternoon. My initial thought was to learn more about his performance in class, from what l have experienced today, I've gained insights into various aspects, beyond his academic performance, in-class behavior, learning progress and attitude toward study, even the details that show his confidence, have left me quite relieved.

Since we just joined LEH Foshan, I’m very eager to know how my son is doing at school every day. So I think this event is a particularly great opportunity, it allows me to keep track of his recent situation, find out what he does at school, and also get to know his friends.

When l first walked into the classroom with my child, I felt a little nervous. But during the class, I saw all the students actively participating in the activities, and every child can speak up and share their own ideas boldly. I was really impressed by each child's confident expression, as well as the great interaction between the teacher and the children.

The Year 7 Bring Your Mum to School Day event surpassed our expectations, and we are thrilled to have offered parents the chance to immerse themselves in the dynamic school life at LEH Foshan. By inviting parents into school, we allow them to experience what it truly means to be a student at our school, to see the learning in action, meet the teachers, and understand our distinctive pedagogy. This helps parents feel part of our community and ensures they can have meaningful, informed conversations with their children about school life.
