I CBFS Autumn Games Conclude
Right! Up! Down!”
A bright moon, reflecting the meaning of reunion across millennia. On September 28, 2025, under the bright autumn sun and the fragrance of osmanthus, Changsha BeeMee Forest School was immersed in a strong festive atmosphere. To welcome the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, the school meticulously planned a comprehensive practical activity themed "Reunion and Collaboration, Celebrating Together under the Full Moon." The activity was divided into two parts: in the morning, exploring culture and creating sweetness by hand in the quiet classrooms and cafeteria; in the afternoon, sweating and competing for glory on the passionate playground, allowing students to deeply experience the cultural connotations of Mid-Autumn and the spirit of teamwork through both calm and active engagement.
Part One: Seeking Cultural Flavors, Skillfully Creating Reunion
The activity began with a strong festive atmosphere filling each classroom. Guided jointly by the Chinese and international homeroom teachers, a lively Mid-Autumn enlightenment lesson commenced. Students traced the origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival and learned about traditional customs like moon gazing and eating mooncakes. This was more than just a cultural lesson; it was a dialogue across time and space, allowing the children to understand the profound significance of "reunion" in Chinese culture through stories and discussion.
After the theoretical learning, the most anticipated practical session—making snow-skin mooncakes—officially began! The students washed their hands, lined up neatly, and headed to the cafeteria, eager to show their skills. After a professional demonstration by the cafeteria chef, the children, with the help of their teachers, transformed into "little pastry chefs." Kneading, wrapping the filling, pressing the mold... When each exquisite and adorable mooncake took shape in their own hands, the children's faces were filled with pride and joy. In this teacher-student collaboration, the children not only learned a skill but also genuinely felt the joy of teamwork. Each child took home the two mooncakes they had made and packaged themselves, sharing this unique sweetness and sense of achievement with their families.
Part Two: Chasing Dreams on the Field,
Competing for Glory Together
While the sweetness of the handmade mooncakes still lingered, the quiet cultural experience of the morning had endowed the word "reunion" with profound depth. In the afternoon, this sense of reunion sublimated on the broader playground, transforming into the vibrant force of "friendly competition." At 2:00 PM, with stirring melodies, our school's Autumn Fun Sports Meet grandly opened! The contingents from the four houses—Curie, Einstein, Newton, and Tu Youyou—lined up neatly near the covered walkway at the West Gate and entered with vigorous strides. The speech by school leader Ms. Ada ignited the enthusiasm of the entire venue.
The most eye-catching was undoubtedly the equestrian performance by the Equestrian CCA team led by G6 student Jenny. Jenny sat upright, confidently controlling the horse with steady steps, demonstrating the tacit understanding between rider and horse and the results of systematic training. This was not just a stunning entry but also a vivid display of the teaching strength of our school's distinctive Equestrian program, instantly winning thunderous applause from the entire audience and fully showcasing the unique style of BeeMee students.
The sports meet ingeniously set up ten fun sports stations, perfectly integrating traditional Mid-Autumn elements with athletic competition, as well as CCA programs that BeeMee School has offered since its establishment, such as Equestrian, Fencing, and Golf:
Moonlight Parachute tested teamwork, with the giant rainbow parachute undulating like waves to the commands of "Left! Right! Up! Down!"
Moon Roll and Lantern-Guided Obstacle Run were tests of speed and endurance, with children striving forward amid shouts of encouragement.
Lantern Target Toss and Osmanthus Scent Ball Putt Challenge tested focus and skill, with each success accompanied by cheers.
Moonlight United Tug-of-War and Save the Tree Relay displayed team rapport to the fullest, with chants and tense rhythms interwoven.
Mid-Autumn Fencing Duel, Mooncake Shooting Fun, and Osmanthus Scent Rock Climbing Challenge allowed children to experience the charm of different sports under professional guidance and bravely challenge themselves.
On the field, every little face was filled with focus and happiness; cheers and laughter merged into a sea of joy.
From cultural inheritance in the classroom to vibrant blossoming on the sports field. This Mid-Autumn themed activity took knowledge beyond the textbooks and integrated culture into life. We believe that the seed concerning reunion, cooperation, and traditional culture has been quietly planted in each child's heart and will thrive with the passage of time.
Looking forward to meeting again next year!
