纳西钥匙扣制作:孩子们选择了自己喜爱的东巴图文,精心绘画涂色,围在工作人员的身边耐心等待钥匙扣的诞生;
东巴文书写:妈妈们一笔一画教孩子写下“平平安安”,墨香里藏着文化的传承;

Aoife

Ella

James

As the morning sun bathed the Club Med terrace and the children’s laughter mingled with the drifting clouds over the snow-capped mountains, our cross-country graduation journey came to a heartfelt close, captured forever in our memories. As a teacher who accompanied the children every step of the way, I want to share this unforgettable experience, marked by growth and love, with you in vivid detail.

The Departure: A Sense of Ceremony in
Ancient Charm and Starlight

Day 1
At the airport, clutching their boarding passes with serious little faces, the children looked every bit like seasoned young travellers. Upon arrival, we quickly settled in, but allowed ourselves to slow down during our afternoon adventure through Baisha Old Town. Thirteen families became “culture detectives,” tracing the thousand-year heritage of the Naxi people across stone-paved streets. Parents followed close behind, capturing moments on camera, especially the sparkle in their child’s eyes as they pointed out the Dongba script carved into ancient walls.

That evening, our opening ceremony set the tone. When the children were handed their Graduation Travel Handbook, they held it like brave explorers receiving a treasure map. During the Lijiang Talent Show, one quiet girl, who usually preferred roleplay or solitary play, surprised everyone by dancing joyfully under the spotlight. Growth often blooms in the quietest corners, catching us all off guard.

Immersive Learning: Where Nature
Becomes the Classroom

Days 2-3
The second morning began with a traditional Yunnan tea ceremony. The children observed respectfully, mimicking the ritual of “three bows” before offering tea to their elders. That is, until someone sipped Pu’er tea and wrinkled their nose: “Teacher, is this bitter coffee?”

But the true magic came on Day 3, during our hike through the ancient Podolo Forest. Dressed in forest uniforms, the children explored under towering trees blanketed in moss. Kneeling to touch a strange mushroom, one child unknowingly channelled Darwin himself. And when the first wildflower was discovered on the alpine meadow, their cheers rang so loud they startled a blue magpie from the treetops.

Family Bonding: Creating Lasting
Memories Together

Special Activities for Parents and Children
Dongba Keychains: Children carefully selected their favourite Dongba symbols, coloured them with focus, and eagerly waited while staff turned them into keepsake keychains.
Calligraphy in Dongba Script: Mums guided their children’s hands to write “Peace and Safety,” each stroke steeped in cultural meaning and love.
Archery Challenge: Every arrow, no matter how skewed, was a symbol of perseverance. Each uneven puncture on the target became a badge of pride.

The Finale: Painting Goodbyes in Colour

Day 5
Farewell Ceremony & New Beginnings
On the final day, the children painted traditional “tile cats,” pouring their fondness for Lijiang into every brushstroke. Beneath the sacred Amaze Tree, our farewell ceremony began. Each child signed their name on a banner bearing the class logo, faces radiant with joy, etched forever in our memories.

Epilogue: To All Who Walked Beside Us

Thank you to Club Med for their thoughtful care, making the Mini Club a safe haven for the children. Thank you to the parents, whose unwavering trust and support made everything possible. And most of all, thank you to our 13 incredible children. You’ve turned mountain breezes, tea trail bells, and one another’s laughter into the sweetest memories of your early years.

Now, your suitcases carry more than just souvenirs; they hold the secret code of your growth and wonder. May this Lijiang-marked gift remain a joyful footnote in your childhood, one that still makes you smile when you revisit it someday.
Your next stop? The stars and the sea.

Parents’ Reflection

Aoife's Mum
Three years have flown by in the blink of an eye.
Now, setting off under the banner of the Penguin Class graduation,
We chose this journey as a tribute to growth.
These five days in Lijiang were more than a holiday—
They were the children’s very first taste of life together as a group.
We didn’t want to say goodbye, yet the moment came to wave farewell.
This carefully planned graduation trip,
Lovingly prepared by the kindergarten,
Gave our parting a warmth and beauty all its own.
For three whole years, the teachers have cared for my little one with a love
Too deep to be expressed in words.
I feel grateful, thankful, and truly moved.
If fate allows, may we meet again someday.

Returning from the Mountains - Choosing the “Never a Tourist” Path
From the very beginning, we decided against a typical sightseeing itinerary—and looking back, we truly were never tourists.
What left the deepest impression on me was the moment our group, young and old, ventured into the untouched Podolo Forest. This was a route completely free from commercial development. We were led by two local guides, one of whom lives year-round in a remote village at 3,200 metres above sea level. To meet us, he set off at 6 am, navigating narrow mountain paths, and arrived at 10.
The moment we saw him, our modern expectations collided with a way of life rooted in “walking to travel, shouting to communicate.” The contrast between our world and his was striking.
Our bags were filled with pine needles gathered along the slopes, our clothes brushed by moss, and the scent of the forest. This dialogue with the mountains ended only with the setting sun. As the final ridge vanished into the mist, we realised: every step of that journey had been measuring the true scale of life itself.
Now, looking back, the path we walked has become a contour line etched in the palm of our hands. And the scratches left by brambles? They are scabbing over—forming a staircase to the stars.

Hearts Bathed in Sacred Mountains: The Penguin Class and a “Three-Generation Journey”
When the towering silhouette of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain gently embraced our courtyard, its eternal snowy crown glowing with morning light, we knew this was no ordinary trip. This sacred mountain, revered for generations by the Naxi people, stood in silent witness to our unique group: not only children ready to take flight, and the loving teachers and parents guiding them, but also grandmothers, hair silvered with time, walking steadily by their side. In the arms of the mountain, the Penguin Class of BeeMee Forest Children’s Academy unfurled a warm and loving chapter of their graduation journey, a story of family, tradition, and shared memories.

Into the Lamei Valley: Planting Seeds of Reverence in an Ancient Forest
The moment we stepped into the untouched forest of Lamei Valley, it felt like entering a secret world forgotten by time. Towering ancient trees, gnarled branches, and a thick canopy cast dappled shadows across our path. The children’s small hands reached curiously for the velvety moss on the trunks, eyes wide in wonder at the lichen and beard-like strands of old man's beard hanging overhead.
The teachers, transformed into guides of the wild, pointed out the ferns growing symbiotically along the trunks, gently explaining the mysteries of interdependent life. They reminded the children to step carefully over roots coiled beneath their feet and to listen, to really listen, to the forest breathe. In that hush, broken only by birdsong and the murmur of a stream, the children closed their eyes and sank into a rare, reverent stillness. In that moment, the green cathedral around us imparted a quiet belief: all life is sacred, and we are part of a greater whole.
Later, as the group rested beneath an ancient tree, the teachers led forest games and spontaneous songs that sent laughter echoing through the glade. Pure joy filled every child’s backpack that day, more precious than any souvenir.

The Song of Companions: Parents as Pillars, Teachers as Springs
Over these past three years at BeeMee, every event we hoped for became a reality. We’ve often joked that we are the “chosen” kindergarten, the “dream” parent committee, the “fairy tale” class (as Ella’s mum put it). But really, is there any such thing as fate?
As this whirlwind graduation trip drew to a close, we came to understand the true meaning of “luck”:
It is a school that weaves responsibility into the fabric of everything it does.
It is teachers who fuel bright little lanterns with unconditional love.
It is parents who lay down bricks of trust to pave a long, steady road.
These three threads, school, teacher, and family, braided together into a single, unbreakable rope. And it is this rope that has carried our little ark, named Childhood, safely across to a shore blooming with flowers.
Our children will one day journey on to far-off lands, but the warmth of this support will remain etched in their palms like a lifeline—because they were once so firmly and lovingly held.

Witnessed by the Mountains: Our Gratitude and Hopes
We are deeply grateful for the school’s thoughtful planning. Throughout the journey, the teachers were a constant source of light. Their eyes, like finely tuned radar, caught every unspoken need: a water bottle handed at just the right moment, a gentle wipe of a sweaty brow, a quiet word of encouragement when little legs began to tire. They were like mountain springs—patient, calm, and endlessly nurturing, giving our children the courage to explore so freely.
This breathtaking journey, with such rich and varied experiences, has become the perfect finale to our children's early years. We bow deeply to the teachers, whose kindness was shown in every steadying hand on a cobbled path, in every moment of calm reassurance during excitement or fear. You have shown us what it truly means to treat every child as your own.

Now, the suitcases we carry home are filled with love and joy.
May the ancient trees of Lamei Valley lend our children their deep-rooted strength to face life’s storms.
May the pure and eternal grace of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain forever guard their hearts.
Children, you’re about to set off on your next great journey. But always remember:
The starlit sky we once gazed at beneath the mountain…
The pulse of ancient life you felt beneath your fingertips in the forest…
The loving eyes of your teachers and parents watching you with hope…
These things will become a quiet light within you—
One that will never fade,
And will forever guide you
Toward a life that is bright, boundless, and your very own.

Sealing Growth for the Future: A Postal Stamp of Time
As the painted colors of the Wamao dry in the twilight, and the wind from the snow mountains blends children's laughter into the clouds, this graduation ceremony with nature as the classroom has imprinted a unique postmark on every milestone of growth. Biyimi Forest Children's Academy wishes to become eternal starlight — in the moment when you open the Dongba script manual, in the instant when dewdrops in the mossy forest refract rainbows, and in the hour when you encounter storms on life's journey. We always believe that the seeds of curiosity sown during the Lijiang trip will eventually grow into towering trees that safeguard life in the vaster world.
The stars and the sea of the next stop are already calling, yet the kindergarten door will always be ajar for you — remember to come back often, let the teachers feel how much taller you've grown, and tell us how the courage taken from the snow mountains has bloomed into more dazzling flowers in new soils.
