This week, we turn the spotlight on another group of dedicated students whose hard work and passion have truly paid off, the LEH Foshan International Secondary School Football Team. Throughout the year, these talented athletes have shown remarkable progress, demonstrating teamwork, resilience, and a diverse set of skills on and off campus. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, as they’ve recently brought home prizes and awards, making the entire school community proud.

A standout moment came in May when the football team delivered an outstanding performance in an exciting match against Fettes College Guangzhou (FCG). The team secured an impressing victory, with goals scored by players across multiple positions, showcasing their depth and versatility. This win not only highlighted their progress but also cemented their growing reputation as a team to watch.

At LEH Foshan, our football curriculum is more than just a game, it’s a dynamic programme designed to develop physical ability, strategic thinking, and personal growth. We integrate football into our broader PE curriculum and offer a structured pathway for students to progress from foundational skills to competitive play for the secondary school team.

The accomplishment in the competition reflects not only our students’ individual skill but also the strength and teamwork of our football programme. Their success is rooted in the steadfast support of our seasoned coaching team, who integrate technical proficiency with an emphasis on confidence, resilience, and sportsmanship. To promote the development of students' physical fitness, our school has assembled a highly qualified football coaching team.

Mr Morgan believes playing football is not just about scoring goals, it is also fantastic for students’ physical and mental health. Football improves fitness, coordination, and endurance. The camaraderie among teammates fosters friendships and a sense of belonging. It promotes perseverance, leadership, and teamwork, qualities that help students both on and off the pitch.

At LEH Foshan, our football curriculum is more than just a game, it’s a dynamic programme designed to develop physical ability, strategic thinking and personal growth. The programme is tiered by age and ability, beginning with core technical skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, and advancing to tactical awareness, teamwork, and leadership. For students who are not on the competitive team, we offer a variety of football-related ECAs, including recreational training sessions. These provide inclusive opportunities for all students to enjoy the sport and stay active.
